CBS Sports Will Live Stream All it’s PGA Tour Events in 2013
Beginning with this weekend Farmers Insurance Open, golf fans will be able to view CBS Sports’ full schedule of 2103 PGA Tour events live and on both iOS and Android mobile devices.
Earlier this week, CBS Sports issued a press release announcing the new streaming availability along with it’s full TV broadcast schedule of PGA Tour events. We had been expecting (hoping) for this Mobile Sports Report had reported last year that every 2013 PGA Tour Event would be streamed via online and mobile apps.
Beginning this weekend at the Farmers Insurance Open and for all 18 PGA TOUR events this year, CBS Sports’ PGA TOUR coverage will be fully available for the first time through live streaming. Visitors to CBSSports.com and PGATOUR.com will be directed to a co-branded video player to watch live streaming of Saturday’s and Sunday’s broadcasts. The live streaming also will be available on CBS Sports and CBS SportCaster applications for the iPhone, Android and iPad as well as through a web-based player at m.cbssports.com.
This isn’t CBS first foray into live streaming of sports events. For several years, they have broadcast both college football and basketball via online streaming and their mobile apps. CBS Sports will also live stream Super Bowl 47 next week.
CBS Sports’ 18 PGA TOUR events and 2 majors include: Farmers Insurance Open, AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, Northern Trust Open, The Masters, RBC Heritage, Zurich Classic Of New Orleans, Wells Fargo Championship, HP Byron Nelson Championship, Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide Insurance, FedEx St. Jude Classic, Travelers Championship, AT&T National, The Greenbrier Classic, John Deere Classic, RBC Canadian Open, WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, PGA Championship, Wyndham Championship, and The Barclays.
