Turn Your Android Phone into a Gus Johnson Alarm Clock
Would you rather wake in the morning to one of Gus Johnson’s exhilarating calls than a buzzing alarm? Who wouldn’t!? I got (swiped) this idea from a recent Dan Patrick Show interview with Gus Johnson. Dan suggested Gus develop an alarm clock that played Gus’ “Rise and Fire.” Hmm, should be easy enough to do with your phone right? Indeed. Here’s how…

Gus Johnson’s Announcing Schedule for NCAA March Madness
Gus Johnson has become a bit of a cult figure. His exuberant calls have become instant YouTube and talk radio classics. College basketball fans may be in for more classic Gus Johnson this weekend as he and partner Len Elmore will be among the announcing teams calling the action for the 2011 NCAA Basketball Tournament.
Gus will be behind the mic for First Round (don’t call it a play in) games between UT-San Antonio and Alabama St., and USC and VCU in Dayton, Ohio. Sadly, Thursday & Saturday will be a Gus free days. Gus and partner Len Elmore will T-it-up for 4 games on Friday and 2 more on Sunday. CBS unfortunately has them stuck in cable purgatory of TNT/TruTV, but you can catch them online if you don’t have one or both of those channels.
Need an Excuse to Stay Home & Watch March Madness? Schedule a Vasectomy
Yeah, really. Last month I heard a sports talk show mention a local urologist running a marketing campaign to encourage men who were planning on a vasectomy to schedule it around March Madness. Why? You’re going to have to lie on the coach and rest for a few days after the procedure, so why not get it done when there is plenty of hoops action to keep you entertained.
Here is a commercial ad from one clinic in Virginia promoting “Vasectomy Madness.”
