Follow the NFL Draft Live with the NFL Mobile App for Android and Blackberry

Last fall we reviewed the NFL Mobile App for Verizon customers, and the app has just been updated for the 2011 NFL Draft which takes place April 28th–30th. The update brings an NFL Draft tracker and profile information on virtually every NFL Draft prospect. The only caveats are that you must be a Verizon customer with a supported phone and data plan.

Note: Images below are from Android OS.

You can access the Draft Tracker by select the menu button on your device and selecting Draft Tracker at the bottom. You can scroll through the current round, or flip back and forth between rounds to see draft position or selected players.

If you really don’t desire to follow the draft so closely and just want the get the picks sent to you, you can opt to get a text sent for every pick or just the picks of your favorite team.

You’ll need to have a data plan with Verizon and a supported phone to use NFL Mobile. Customers can download the App by texting “NFL” to 8915 for a link, and Android users can also download it from the Android Market, or by scanning the QR code below.

Check here to see if your phone is on the list of supported devices or get more information.

Overall, the NFL Mobile’s draft coverage looks to be a home run. Not only can you track the draft as it is happening, you can get text alerts, and detailed prospect analysis. It’s far superior product to the NFL’s iPhone app.
