Tom Brady Recalls the 2000 NFL Draft

Part of the legend of Tom Brady is that he wasn’t selected until the 6th round (199th overall) in the 2000 NFL draft. In this clip from ESPN, Tom Brady and his father, Tom Sr., recount the events and emotions of that day. Tom even breaks down and begins crying at one point…

Some of the QB names that ESPN shows coming off the board are interesting. The 49ers took Giovanni Carmazzi, the Ravens selected Chris Redman, Tee Martin by the Steelers. Also drafted ahead of Brady were Chad Pennington by the Jets in Round 1, Marc Bulger by St. Louis in the 5th, and Spergon Wynn by Cleveland in the 6th.
