Review: Gold’s Gym Cardio Workout for Wii

Gold’s Gym Cardio Workout has been out for well over a year, but still holds up, especially with all the fitness and exercise games being released for the Wii.

Don’t let the title fool you, this is a boxing workout game. Virtually all the exercises have to do with punching or dodging punches, although you can unlock some other exercises like jump rope and and jogging course that is a little odd in that it requires you to stop periodically to punch out a bear. Yes, I said a bear.

I intended to do my own full review of this game, but found that these two video reviews below pretty much nailed it.

The first is from Wiiviewer on YouTube:

This review comes from Classic Game Room:

This is a good cardio upper body workout. While it’s not the complete workout that you’ll get from the NFL Training Camp for the Wii that we’ve looked at previously, it’s still a nice fun way to burn calories, especially if you are into boxing.

One thing mentioned in both video reviews that I want emphasize again is you definitely want to use to Wii remotes as opposed to a Wii remote and nunchuck. The cable on the nunchuck may not be long enough, especially if you have a longer reach.

The price point for Gold’s Gym Cario Workout is also very attractive. I typically see it on for between $15-$20, making it an inexpensive addition to your Wii workout game collection.
