Remember When Brad Childress Played Colonel Klink on Hogan’s Heroes?
No, not really, but more than a few Minnesota Vikings fans have noticed the similarity. And we aren’t just talking about the bumbling and clueless leadership.
German born actor Werner Klemperer played the “real” Colonel Klink on Hogan’s Heroes, which ran from 1965-1971. Klink was portrayed as a cowardly commandant of the Stalag 13 POW camp who was easily manipulated by the American Col. Hogan and his merry band of Allied prisoners.
Not only does Childress bear a resemblance to the Klink, but it seems that he had about as much control over the team and the locker room as Klink did over Stalag 13.
Update: Jay Glazer is reporting that the Vikings have fired Brad Childress.
