NHL GameCenter App for iPhone, iPad, and Android

Get you iPhone, Android, or iPad ready for the 2013 NHL Hockey season with the NHL GameCenter App.

The app has undergone a total redesign for 2013 which I found a bit clunky at first but I’m now getting used too it. I haven’t used it on an iPhone 5, but reviews claim it has not yet been optimized for that device. (Which is pretty hard to believe and a pretty significant oversight if true) Other new features include the ability to add up to 5 favorite teams and “near” real-time shift changes for better game simulation.

What can be truly confusing about this app is who gets access to which content. The base app is free to download for everyone. This free version gives the user access to live scores, standings, schedules, and on-demand videos and post-game highlights. Verizon Wireless customers with iPads, Android Tablets, or 4G LTE Android phones will get free access to NHL GameCenter Premium, plus some exclusive Verizon content. Other users can subscribe to NHL GameCenter Premium for $4.99 for the season.

NHL GameCenter™ Premium features:
– Live hone & away Radio Broadcasts
– In-Game Video Highlights
– Condensed Game Replays

Exclusive Verizon content includes:
– Live NBC National Games
– NBC’s Inside the Glass
– Live Streaming of NHL On The FLYTM
– Other Exclusive Video On Demand

NHL GameCenter LIVE subscribers can log into the app with their username and password and access live out of market NHL games all season long. If you don’t have a NHL GameCenter LIVE subscription, you can sign up through an in-app upgrade for $49.99.
