Listen to Mike & Mike in the Morning on iPhone or Android (For Free!) without Buying the ESPN Radio App
Do you start your weekdays listening to Mike & Mike on ESPN Radio? What if you are on the go and can’t be next to a radio, TV, on the web? You could purchase the ESPN Radio iPhone app for $2.99, but if you want to save a little bit of cash, here are a couple ways to listen to Mike in Mike in Morning on your iPhone, Android, or Blackberry phone for free.
TuneIn Radio App for Android
This free Android app pulls radio station feeds from all over the country, including music, talk, sports, etc. It’s not specifically for sports talk radio, it really is a great app to have for sports fans.
To Find Mike and Mike, open the App, select Sports, and then Sports Talk. Your second screen may look slightly different. The options on the second screen will vary based on what is available at the time. If there is NFL, College Football, MLB, or other sports programming available at the time you will see those sports listed.
Scroll down through the stations to find the stations broadcasting Mike and Mike, or scroll down further you’ll see Mike and Mike listed under shows. From there, you can select a station to listen to.
Download TuneIn from the Android Market or install by scanning the QR Code below. Note: There is also a pay TuneIn App that is Ad free.
There are some ESPN affiliate stations that have their own iPhone (and Android) apps that stream ESPN Radio programming to your iPhone. In many cases, these stations may only broadcast certain ESPN shows, while filling other time slots with local programming. We’ve gathered a few that cover the popular Mike and Mike in the Morning radio show, that airs every morning on ESPN Radio and with a TV simulcast on ESPN2.
97.5 The Fanatic – Philadelphia, PA
This local Philadelphia ESPN Radio affiliate airs Mike and Mike in the Morning from 6am-10am Eastern and local programming most of the remainder of the day.
The App is very basic, although it does have options to set an alarm, play in the background so you can multi-task, go to the Fanatic website, and even call the studio from your iPhone. There is a volume slider and a long Play / Stop button below the volume slider.
They also have apps for Android and Blackberry. You can find more information about those apps on the 97.5 the Fanatic website, or you scan the QR Code below to install on your Android phone.
Note: We have experience the occasional Force Close when trying to exit the Fanatic Android app.
The Fan 97.1 FM – Columbus, OH
The Fan in Columbus broadcasts ESPN Radio programming like Mike & Mike, Colin Cowherd, and ESPN at night, along with local programming during the afternoon.
97.1 The Fan actually doesn’t have an iPhone app, but rather a mobile website that allows streaming to iPhone (or any phone with a mobile browser, such as and Android device) To use it, simple point your mobile browser to m971.com. Like the previous App, this one is pretty basic. Just select Listen Live.
There are probably other options for listening to Mike and Mike for free on iPhone or Android, but these are three good solutions we have found and tested. If you know of any other free alternatives, let us know in the comments!
ESPN Radio has an iPhone app that allows you to listen to ESPN Radio flagship programs like Mike & Mike in the Morning, podcasts, and local programming from some of the major affiliates like ESPN 1050 in New York and ESPN 103.3 in Dallas. The App runs $2.99 in the iTunes store. I’ve been hesitant to try it because recent reviews have been quite negative. A lot of complaints about freezing, dropping the audio stream, etc. It does have an impressive array of additional feature that may appeal to some such as live college football and more than a dozen local affiliates. Until I see that the current issues have been fixed I will continue to use these free alternatives to enjoy Mike and Mike on my iPhone or Android device.
